I had a pleasant stay overall at the Anchorage Inn Charleston. The location was fantastic, just a short walk from the waterfront and many restaurants. The room was spacious and the staff was friendly, but I did experience some noise from the street and a musty smell in the building.

Rooms

My queen-sized room was clean and comfortable, featuring a four-poster bed. However, I was surprised to find that it had no windows, which I thought was unusual for a bedroom. The high bed may be challenging for some guests, but overall I slept well.
Service

The staff was consistently friendly and helpful, often using my name, which made me feel more welcome. They offered great assistance, like drying wet clothes when caught in the rain, which was beyond standard service.

The Anchorage Inn is ideally located just half a block from East Bay and a short walk to the King Street shopping district and Market Street. I couldn't have asked for a better spot to explore Charleston's historic sites.

Breakfast was better than most continental offerings, with a selection that included bagels, muffins, and even waffles. The complimentary wine and cheese in the evenings were a good touch, creating a friendly atmosphere to mingle with fellow travelers.

While the amenities like the computer in the lobby and free internet access were appreciated, the musty smell of the old building and issues at check-out took away from the experience. It seemed strange that they couldn't print a receipt for my prepaid stay.

I had a lovely stay at Anchorage Inn Charleston, where the cozy atmosphere and really good staff truly made my visit nice. The location is just unbeatable—with the waterfront park close by, I had access to numerous dining options, shops, and attractions. The room was clean and comfortable, though I noticed it was windowless, which could be off-putting for some. Overall, it was a great value for the price, making it an excellent choice for anyone visiting Charleston! 🎉🏨

My room was clean, comfortable, and of decent size, but it was windowless, which gave it a darker feel. Overall, it was cozy and met my needs well.

The location is excellent! Just half a block from the ocean and a short walk to great restaurants and markets. I loved being so close to everything Charleston has to offer.

While the breakfast was decent to start my day, the real gems were the nearby restaurants like the Griffin Pub and Garibaldi's, which were fantastic for lunch and dinner.

The inn has a charming atmosphere and includes nice touches like a wine-and-cheese hour in the library. It was cozy, but the dark rooms might not suit everyone.

I had a lovely stay at the Anchorage Inn, rich in charm and ideally located. The personal service was a highlight, and I enjoyed the good breakfast and evening treats. However, the room I stayed in was quite small and a bit dusty, which left some room for improvement.

Rooms

My room was cozy but smaller than expected, with an interior window that looked out onto the hallway. It felt dark since I had to keep the shade down for privacy, and there was a layer of dust in the corners.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which made my stay enjoyable, though there were moments when they seemed overwhelmed during breakfast.

The inn was clean and had a charming historical atmosphere, but the mattress in my room felt quite old and sagged, which impacted my comfort.

6.0/10

My stay at the Anchorage Inn Charleston had its charms, especially the cozy interior and prime location, though I felt the overall experience didn't justify the price. The rooms are spacious, but the linens and towels left much to be desired, and the service was lacking in warmth. You might enjoy the wine and cheese hour for a quick snack, but I wouldn't count on it for a full meal.

Rooms
5.0
The room was large with a nice bathroom, but the linens and towels were worn and not plush. Also, the A/C made the room humid and damp, leading to an uncomfortable stay overall.
Service

The staff wasn’t particularly friendly or helpful; I felt more like a bother than a guest. Check-in was smooth, but subsequent interactions left me wanting more positivity.
Location

The location is fantastic, just a couple of minutes from nightlife and good restaurants. It's great for exploring Charleston and its attractions.
Dining

The breakfast options were underwhelming, and the wine and cheese hour felt more like an afterthought than a treat. I was hoping for more variety and quality.
Facilities

The inn had a charming atmosphere, though the lack of parking information on arrival was frustrating. The place overall is clean but lacks some modern amenities.

I had a lovely stay at the Anchorage Inn in Charleston! The central location made exploring the historical district easy, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. While the room was cozy with a four-poster bed, it didn't have windows to the outside, which made it feel a bit compact. Overall, I'd give my experience 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️
